Today, Nov. 15, is National Philanthropy Day, so we take this opportunity to thank the many individuals, companies, organizations, foundations, community service organizations and governments who support our work to help and heal children and families from trauma from abuse. But we use it, too, to share that the work is not yet done. In fact, it’s far from done, so your support – and the support of countless others – still is needed. PAL Coalition offering seven Mental Health First Aid trainings in 2018

The PAL Coalition, an initiative of Family & Children’s Place, is planning seven Mental Health First Aid Trainings for adults during 2018. Trainings, which last from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., take place at the agency’s Family Service Center at Fifth and Kentucky streets. The goal of the course is to increase participants’ understanding of mental health issues and treatments, connect more people with care, and reduce stigma – helpful information given that many people with mental disorders delay seeking help, but are more open to getting help when encouraged by someone they trust.
