Through discussion, workbook activities and videosegment, attendees leave with a much better grasp of the scope of the problem and how to better protect our community&#8217;s children.</span></p>

<p style="text-align: left;" align="center"><strong>Louisville</strong><strong>, KY (February 29, 2012) – </strong>America’s Promise Alliance will host its 2012 “Building a Grand Nation Summit” March 18-21 inWashington, D.C..  Among those in attendance will be Meyzeek Middle School student Blair Taylor. Taylor was one of 54 students selected from a nationwide list of applicants to receive a scholarship for the summit.  At just 14, Taylor was one of the youngest to receive the scholarship</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The summit highlights a multi-year campaign to curb high school drop-out rates and improve college readiness.  Attendees will hear about local and regional efforts to increase graduation rates and take part in relevant discussion.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Among her many areas of school and community involvement, Taylor takes part in Meyzeek’s CLASP program. CLASP, an initiative of Family &amp; Children’s Place, is an afterschool program that works with students in areas of academic success, character building and community engagement.  Robert Fenwick, a Family &amp; Children’s Place staff member, nominated Taylorand was not the least bit surprised to hear ofTaylor’s achievement. “I nominated Blair because of her positive attitude, tenacity and willingness to learn.  This conference is a great opportunity for her to further develop her potential as a future leader in this community.”</p>

We will once again feature local food and desserts from various Louisville restaurants, nearly 300 items up for silent auction, a live auction, entertainment, prizes and more! Past auction items have included vacations, priceless sports memorabilia, entertainment packages, collectables and a whole lot more! </p>
<p>Make plans to join us for dinner and an evening of fun after the UofL game as we celebrate 25 years of Louisville tradition!</p>
