Through collaborations with the Crimes Against Children Unit of Louisville Metro Police, Child Protective Services, U of L School of Medicine and the Commonwealth’s Attorney office, our Kosair Charities Child Advocacy Center works to help children through the trauma of sexual abuse.
We provide individual, family, group and school-based counseling to help trauma-impacted children and families. We supervise parent-child visitations, help families stay in their homes, help parents better engage and bond with their newborns and students improve socially and academically.
Last year we helped nearly 5,000 children and family members regain hope.
If you witness or suspect child abuse, take action immediately. Call the Kentucky Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-752-6200 or the Indiana Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-800-5556.
It is a time to acknowledge the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect, and to promote the social and emotional well-being of children and families.
During the month, Family & Children’s Place will be sharing child abuse and neglect prevention awareness strategies, ideas and activities on our website, Facebook and Twitter. We encourage you to engage as well, to commit to prevent child abuse.
Family & Children’s Place and the Face It Movement believe that every child has the right to grow, learn and mature in an environment free from emotional, physical and sexual abuse, and neglect. Join us April 1 and be the face and voice that ends child abuse.
