April, just a few weeks away, is Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to acknowledge the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect, and to promote the social and emotional well-being of children and families.   PAL students worked with Blue Apple Players for 12 weeks writing, creating, editing and starring in videos for the 2016 REEL ACTION Video Contest to Prevent Underage Drinking, where teens use their talents to create 28-second videos to take REEL ACTION to reduce underage drinking, reel by reel. Selected video winners will be shown on movie cinema screens, as commercials on major television channels (MTV, ESPN, BET, E! Children invited to enter statewide poster contest

15 winners will be selected, one from each child advocacy center district The Office of the Kentucky Attorney General, with assistance from the Kentucky Association of Child Advocacy Centers, is sponsoring a poster contest as part of National Crime Victims’ Right Week, April 10-16, 2016. Deadline for the contest is March 16, and 15 winners will be selected (one from each child advocacy center district, including the Kosair Charities Child Advocacy Center here in Louisville).
