Congratulations to JT Henderson, Family & Children’s Place vice president of Philanthropy, for his selection as outstanding graduate student at the Spalding University School of Business. Henderson, who earned his Master of Science in Business Communications, received the School of Business Eileen Egan Award. It’s the first awarding of the recognition in two years for the school, which recognizes an outstanding graduate student who exemplifies the Spalding University mission statement of meeting the needs of the times. Family & Children’s Place receives $40,000 from Humana Foundation

Award will provide after-school programming for at-risk Meyzeek Middle students LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 2, 2016) – Humana Foundation has awarded a $40,000 grant to Family & Children’s Place, which will be used to support out of school programming for students attending Meyzeek Middle School in downtown Louisville. Grant will provide Safe Sleep Kits to families to help ensure safe sleeping space for infants LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 1, 2016) – UPS Foundation has awarded a $5,000 grant to Family & Children’s Place to help provide safe sleep kits to families lacking a safe sleep space for their infants and with limited means to provide them on their own. Every five days, an infant in Kentucky dies from a sleep-related factor, and in 2013, 90.5 percent of unexpected infant deaths had at least one sleep-related factor documented. General services grant will help ensure continued care for children, families hurt by abuse LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 1, 2016) – The Glenda and Gordon Ford Foundation has awarded a $2,020 general services grant to Family & Children’s Place to help provide ongoing care for children and families impacted by violence, abuse and neglect. The gift will allow the agency to provide more direct service support and care, rather than use precious and limited resources to cover operational costs.
