Iron Mann and Black Widow visit Family & Children’s Place

Iron Mann visited Family & Children’s Place  this morning! Iron Mann, 107.7 The Eagle radio host Carter Mann, in a specially made superhero suit, joined by Black Widow, played by co-host Regular Laura, stopped by to visit with students from our Family & School Services program, and to donate $2,500 to support the agency’s work to prevent and heal child abuse and neglect. Thanks, Iron Mann and Black Widow, and thanks 107.7. and Todd Reardon, who made the suit and the gift possible!

Family & Children’s Place Ambassadors support the agency’s work in several ways – outright donations, volunteering for events and activities, representing the agency at community meetings, but none matter more than direct support and service with our clients – children impacted by violence, abuse and neglect. AR-HALE Foundation provides $5,000 grant to child advocacy center

LOUISVILLE, Ky. New PAL Center gives young people a hand up with homework, life

The PAL Coalition has opened a center at Lynnhurst United Church of Christ offering students evidenced-based curriculum and homework help, advocacy training (led by Kentucky state Rep. Joni Jenkins and PAL Board members) and an open gym. The center, which opened Monday, Sept. 12, welcomes students from 2:30 to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and by its third day had seen 60 young participants! Family Stabilization has openings in Rapid Rehousing program

Passing along some important and helpful information, the agency’s Family Stabilization Program (FSP) has openings in its Rapid Rehousing program for families that are homeless. Rapid Rehousing is limited assistance with rent and services to help families and individuals that have become homeless due to job loss, accidents, short-term health issues or other crises. The Family & Children’s Place program provides 12 months of rental assistance and case management to eligible families. A boy who has suffered too much still shares love

John Taylor, director of our Indiana based Child & Family Services program, is working with an eight-year-old child whose young life has sadly been filled with incredible pain and heartache. The boy has been in foster care for at least two years, and his mother was locked up for the third time for drug use and abuse. The boy’s older brother sexually abused him, and he has been neglected throughout his childhood.
