Though our annual CAPER event is still a few months away, the CAPER Committee has been busy as bees for some time, planning, preparing and getting everything ready for the big post U of L game party! Most recently, the committee gathered at the office to work on letters soliciting items and thanking people for donating items for the silent auction, a favored piece of the event. The date still isn’t set, but please keep your eyes on the website and your calendars flexible for the save the date for next year’s biggest, most fun family friendly party ever!
We’ve said it before and will say it again — we love our volunteers. They help and support us, they challenge us, they teach and mentor us, they help us stretch our limited resources, so we take every opportunity to thank them and to appreciate them any and every way we can. Recently, we were fortunate to host volunteers from PharMerica, who helped us tidy up our sites, with some weeding and mulching, and then some help to clean out and tidy up our supply closet. Turnout was great at Monday night’s Beer & Banter, a post-work drink and networking event at Louisville’s newest craft beer bar, Hopcat! Attendees got a behind the scenes tour of the bar’s keg room – home to more than 130 tap beers, and heard about the agency’s work from staff, including Micah Jorrisch, director of corporate and community partnerships, and ambassadors, young business and community members who help create awareness and support for the agency through networking or volunteering.
