Put into a foster home together, the boys started to exhibit negative behaviors such as extreme outbursts, bathroom issues, and stealing. The transition was very hard on Sean and Ben. Shannon has been a regular volunteer since she joined the organization in 2014 as part of the inaugural Ambassador class. We’re so excited that she decided to rejoin the Ambassador program. HANDS families celebrate success at graduation

Earlier this month, Family & Children’s Place staff and client families celebrated with 20 children graduating from our fall 2019 HANDS client class. HANDS is a core program for Family & Children’s Place that provides new parents free in-home visitation by a skilled mentor who teaches them parenting and behavioral skills, and techniques and activities that stimulate development to give their baby the best start possible in life. Family & Children’s Place and partners awarded more than $30M grant to continue Head Start and Early Head Start Programs in Jefferson County

5-year award ensures head start program remains available in an economically distressed area (LOUISVILLE, KY–) Family & Children’s Place (F&CP) and its partner, Community Coordinated Child Care (4-C),  announced that the agencies are moving forward with plans to serve more than 550 students over the next 5 years after it was announced that the groups will receive a  more than $30 million grant  from the federal government’s Office of Head Start to continue the Head Start and Early Head Start programs in Jefferson County. PNC Foundation funds will help give babies best start possible LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 12, 2019) – The PNC Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to Family & Children’s Place. The funds will help support the agency’s Health Access Nurturing Development Services (HANDS) program, which works with new and first-time parents to give babies the best start possible. Eric, A Story of Recovery

Eric was a father of three beautiful children, all under the age of 10 and had been married nearly 12 years. Eric had a history of mental health concerns and his relationship with his wife was rocky, with threats of divorce looming. One night, while home alone with the kids, he decided to take his own life.
