Today, Nicole’s outlook is profoundly different. It sounds so simple, but to new mothers like Nicole, stability, safety, and support is everything! “Growing up was hard. I was sexually abused at 3 years old and my mom was a drug addict. Now I’m 26 years old, pregnant, homeless, and scared. Long time volunteer and Ambassador shadows HANDS family

Recently, one of our Ambassadors, Shannon Siders, participated in a shadowing opportunity with our HANDS program. Shannon has been a regular volunteer since she joined the organization in 2014 as part of the inaugural Ambassador class. We’re so excited that she decided to rejoin the Ambassador program. When I moved back to Louisville in 2014, one of my priorities was to volunteer for an organization that was making a difference in the community.
