In-Kind Giving

Family & Children’s Place relies on the generosity of our community to help us provide for the thousands of families and children we serve annually. You can provide services that would greatly assist in our efforts to help families become healthy, safe and stable.

See below for several ways you can help Family & Children’s Place through in-kind donations. To make a donation, please contact us at 502-893-3900, ext. 265.

Family & Children’s Place can always use the following items:

The Kosair Charities Child Advocacy Center always needs snacks and drinks (juice boxes, etc.) for children who get hungry while at the facility. These young people are frequently here for two to three hours and many have not been fed before arriving.

Art supplies (crayons, markers, construction paper, craft supplies, glue sticks, etc.)
School supplies (pencils, pens, wide-ruled notebooks, folders, etc.)
Toys (infant through preschool)

Gift card donations

Helping families in our community can be as simple as buying a gift card! Because each family has its own needs, we often issue gift cards as incentives for completing various programs, seeking proper treatment and attending all scheduled appointments. The donation of gift cards allows Family & Children’s Place to commit more funding to specialized staff and programming, medical examinations and improving facilities. If you would like to donate gift cards, see below for recommended establishments.  We ask that gift card amounts be of $15 or more:

Big Lots
Home Depot
Old Navy
Toys ‘R’ Us

Blankets and stuffed animals

March 2020: Out of an abundance of caution surrounding coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Family & Children’s Place is not currently accepting donations of blankets and stuffed animals.

Discomfort and anxiety often accompany medical examinations and forensic interviews, so the folks at the Kosair Charities Child Advocacy Center offer children a blanket to help brighten their day.  New and gently used items can be donated.

Seasonal donations

The children and families we serve face challenges many of us cannot fathom. Exposure to abuse, violence, unstable home environments and financial strain can leave little opportunity to enjoy the holidays. You can help us ensure these families have a memorable holiday season. Sponsors will be matched with a child and provided specific information – age, gender, clothing sizes and a wish list, and then sponsors can shop for holiday gifts for the child.

Anyone can participate: individuals, a family, friends, church group, Boy Scout troop, fraternities and sororities, businesses, etc.

Don’t have time to shop? You can still help by making a monetary donation to the Holiday Support Program. Family & Children’s Place will purchase gift certificates and wish list items for those families not already chosen for adoption. Clothing, toys and other household necessities are also graciously accepted and will be given to these individuals as well.

Thank you for helping families and children in our community.
